Preparation guide
How to prepare for your boudoir session
Good preparation turns nerves into anticipation. Here’s the simple timeline I share with clients across Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Phoenix, Chandler and Gilbert.

3–4 weeks before
- Have your planning call with me: your occasion, your comfort level, and the feeling you want.
- Choose your location: your home, a hotel suite or an Airbnb with good natural light. I can help you choose.
- Start gathering outfits and order anything online now, so there’s time to exchange.
1–2 weeks before
- Try on everything and sit, kneel and lie down in it. Keep only what feels good.
- Book any nails, brows or hair appointments you want. Choose natural nails in neutral tones.
- Avoid new skincare, facials or treatments that could irritate your skin.
- If you’d like professional hair and makeup, book your own stylist now for the morning of your session.
The day before
- Drink plenty of water and get an early night.
- Steam or press your outfits and pack them on hangers.
- Skip self-tanner and anything new.
On the day
- Wear loose clothing with no tight waistbands, bras or socks for a few hours beforehand, so your skin stays free of marks.
- Eat a light meal.
- Put on music you love. We’ll start gently, with the outfit you feel safest in.
What to bring
- Your outfits, plus one extra
- Heels and jewelry
- A robe for between looks
- Lip color and powder for touch-ups
- Anything meaningful: a veil, his shirt, a letter, a ring
Quick answers
How long before my session should I start preparing?
About 3–4 weeks is ideal, so you have time to choose your location and order outfits. Two weeks can work, too.
Should I diet before my session?
No. Come as you are. Hydration and rest show on camera far more than any crash diet.
